The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (ETCE), Jadavpur University (JU), Kolkata-700 032, West Bengal has undertaken active research in the areas of Embedded Systems during the last decade. As a part of its Diamond Jubilee Year Celebration (1957-2016), the Department endeavors to organize a Hands-on Training Programme on Internet of Things using TI MSP430F5529 ULP Microcontroller during Feb. 17 & 18, 2017 in Technical Collaboration with Edgate Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore with the financial support from TECHNICAL EDUCATION QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, TEQIP-Phase II of JU. Edgate Technologies is an official University Program Partner for Texas Instruments (India) and support the Corporate, educators and engineering student community to achieve more in their learning and research initiatives. The TI University Program is a Global Program and fuels the passions of students and educators in University Labs worldwide. The MSP430 is a mixed-signal microcontroller family from TI. Built around a 16-bit CPU, MSP430 is designed for low cost and specifically low power consumption embedded applications. The MSP430F5529 Launch Pad features on-board emulation, USB-enabled MSP430F5529 16-bit MCU, Up to 25-MHz System Clock,1.8-V to 3.6-V,128KB of flash, 8KB of RAM, Five timers Up to four serial interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C), 12-bit analog-to-digital converter, Analog comparator Integrated USB, with a complete set of USB tools, libraries, examples, and reference guides. The MCU is compatible with the 40-pin LaunchPad BoosterPack™ development tool standard.

Students. Limited Second year B.E./B.Tech. students may also be allowed with appropriate background knowledge on Digital Electronics & Microprocessors.
